What we do

Focusing on community centers and schools with little to no arts programming, SBDI programs immerse individuals in music and dance, fostering pride in personal achievement, a love of the arts, and a curiosity about the world. We engage with individuals and communities through dance and professional development programs.
We offer inclusive dance programming that helps individuals develop connection to themselves and others, a deep understanding of culture and self-expression, and a belief in themselves that will carry over into all aspects of their lives. Using SBDI’s core beliefs of community, connection, and the importance of every individual voice, our goal is to see all students develop critical life skills, build confidence, and experience the exhilarating feeling of success through dance.

supported & valued

I think the SBDI program has a remarkable effect on kids.  Rosalina Macisco has a presence and a talent and a good way with kids.  They “rise to the occasion” and focus on the tasks she lays out for them at their ability level.  Everyone is supported and valued by Ms. Macisco and she is valued in return.
